Chronic debtors must pay up or stay in Australia, as tough new federal measures start to bite.From Child-debt travel ban stops 230More than 200 parents with chronic child support debts have been prevented from leaving the country over the past 18 months under tough new federal powers designed to help children and their carers.
The 230 chronic debtors owed $5 million when the Child Support Agency issued departure prevention orders to prevent them from leaving the country and avoiding their child support responsibilities.
