Shark Feeding Frenzy near Brisbane
Wow - I have never heard of folks closing a beach cuz of a Shark Feeding Frenzy like they just recently did near Brisbane. Sharks and travel to places like Australia and South Africa beaches are something that I hear people being scared about frequently. I have been to both places a few times and locals don't usually appear to be too scared of them. Use common sense and avoid beaches that have shark feeding frenzies going on nearby and you'll most likely be ok. When weighing the risks, getting bitten by a shark is still way less of a chance than getting in a serious car accident in any country...so I'll keep swimming/enjoying the beaches in these locations when I'm there.
