Howard, G-G attend Bali memorial service

Attended by the gentle tinkling of Balinese music, Prime Minister John Howard and Governor-General Michael Jeffery have joined a memorial service in Canberra commemorating those who died in the Bali bombings two years ago.

After the Bali bombings, I cancelled plans for my December trip. I remember thinking when it occured that it was the closest thing Australians had to the American 9-11, but it felt so, so different since it occured in Bali and not, say, Sydney.
