Big Night of Sport

Last night was a feast for the sport lover:

1. The Bledisloe Cup rugby test between Australia and New Zealand.
2. Top of the table AFL clash between the Brisbane Lions and Port Adelaide.
3. Brisbane Broncos took on Manly at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane.

Unfortunately I think I'm the Kiss of Death for the teams I want to win. I watched most of all three games and they all lost.

The Broncos had several Origin and Kangaroo players backing up and should have won the game. But Manly kept testing the Broncos defense and some stupid mistakes by the home team late in the game cost them a victory, 26-20.

The Australian rugby team played much better than they have recently (in my opinion, I haven't read the papers yet), but they were outclassed by an excellent All Black team, 50-21. They are without doubt the team to beat in the World Cup later this year.

The Lions lost by a single point in a cracking game at the 'Gabba. It's tough for a team to come away with nothing from a game like that, but it was very entertaining.

Looks like the All Blacks need to play the Kangaroos in a challenge series.

Half the bloody Kangaroo side left rugby league some time ago to play rugby so they could be selected for the Wallaby team, Wendall Sailor being one of the more high profile ones. Seems they want to win a World Cup that actually means something. Don't like their chances so far...
