Australia holds a number of distinctions. Check out some of these off-the-beaten-path attractions.

One-of-a-kind:
Wear your sandals on Western Australia’s Shell Beach. It is one of only two beaches in the world that’s made up entirely of sea shells.

Bring your binoculars to check out 300 bird species that can only be found down under.

Biggest and Best:
Think worms are icky? Avoid the gippsland in Victoria. It grows longer than 10 feet and is 3/4′’ in diameter.

Moo: The world�s largest cattle station is more than 30,000 square kilometers, and is almost the same size as Belgium.

Moo Too: Derby, W.A. is home to the Southern Hemisphere�s longest cattle trough. It’s almost 400 feet long!

You’ll be pretty in pink if you head to the Argyle Diamond Mine near Kununurra, Western Australia. It’s is the world�s largest diamond mine and the only place to snag pink diamonds.

You don’t even need a conductor for 297 miles on the railway crossing the Nullabor Plain in the southwest corner of Australia. It’s the longest stretch of straight track in the world.

Those who live in Kalgoorlie are part of the world’s largest electorate (2,255,278 square kilometers).

Taking two tanks is a good idea when you head down into the world’s longest cave dive in Cocklebiddy Cave. It’s been explored 3.9 miles!

The swamp gum trees manages to rise 300 feet out of the muck, making it the world’s tallest flowering plant.

The longest coral reef in the world is the Great Barrier Reef and extends more than 2,000 kilometers.
