Coolangatta Holiday
Easter time in my family has, for many years, meant a week at Coolangatta at a time share my folks bought more years ago than I can even remember. Just about all the family who aren’t overseas comes down for at least a couple of days to have a swim, read, relax and eat fish’n'chips. My mum wasn’t going to get much of a chance to swim this year cos she’s got a broken ankle.

Too Much Stuff
I’m leaving the country in less than 24 hours and I’ve come to the realization that I have too much stuff. When I returned from the US just over a year ago I had one huge bag stuffed full and a backpack that was mostly empty. Now I’ve got the same huge bag stuffed even more full, a backpack that’s bursting and I still have to mail back a box of less essential items like CD’s, t-shirts, cameras, etc. If a rolling stone gathers no moss, this pebble is covered in green.

Queensland a bloody rip-off!
According to a recent news article, backpackers are getting the hump with being ripped off by shoddy tour operators in Queensland. So much so that tourism numbers have taken a hit.
The thing that stood out for me about this article was the power of word of mouth. Through message forums, travel blogs and plain ol’ face-to-face, the message is being delivered and travellers are spending their money elsewhere.
While I’m loathe to see government interference in this industry, clearly there has to be some action taken to repair the state’s reputation. Obviously the traveller traffic is not …

Zamunda - For Travellers
If you’re a hardcore traveller, slightly cynical about the gringo trail and positively shun people who carry LP guidebooks, then you’ll want to hear about this untouched paradise we’ve come across that’s retained its local culture and customs, with just a hint of European influence.
BootsnAll’s own Donovan Pacholl just returned from the Africa nation of Zamunda a couple of months ago and we can barely shut him up about it.
