Attention Food Intolerants! Cafe' Mosman!

Café Mosman is at the top of Military Road just down from the Spit. Mosman has several great little café’s. Though most importantly there is one that caters for genetic defects like myself with food intolerance’s. This place is a god send! A cozy little place that has plenty of outdoor seating, it caters for several different intolerance’s but specializes in Gluten intolerance.

YES! There is a place you can go that has lasagna, cookies, carrot cake, and many other things that are all aimed at the dietary-ially challenged. Wicked Dude! Calling young drivers! Irreverent Campervans.

Wa ha ha ha! What a way to travel! Do you like to play on the irreverent side of the road? If so- Wicked campers are just the thing for you. These little Combi Vans just crack me up every time I see one.

Trust me- they are unmistakable. The trademark campers are small vans turned campervan. They fit 2-3 people. Think transformers for big kids. They market to the younger set allowing for young drivers and lots of pop culture. You get a kitchen, CD player, cupboards, lawn chairs, bed/entertainment room, AND a way to get around!

If you are in Manly this weekend- here is where you need to be! An opportunity to dress up, run around with a couple hundred other crazy folks, drink beer and raise money for charity… what more do you need! I’ll be there if anyone cares to meet up! Never mind Christmas Day, the best fun you’ll have this year is at the SANTA CLAUS PUB CRAWL !!!!

What is the “Santa Claus Pub Crawl”? Basically everybody gets dressed up in Christmas costume (e.g. Santa Claus, Mrs Claus, reindeer, elves etc) and we visit several of the fine drinking establishments in Manly spreading Christmas cheer. Apart from raising money for charity, it is a guaranteed good time and over the years has attracted the reputation as one of Manly’s premier social events. Payment Summary:When you stop work in Australia, ask your employer for a payment summary showing your total income and the tax that has been withheld. You will need a payment summary from every employer you have worked for during the year in Australia in order to complete your tax return.

Know Before You Go: 29 Abandoned Uranium Mines to be Incorporated into Kakadu!

Kakadu National Park is a major destination and highlight for many travellers to Australia. One of the issues surrounding the park that travellers should be aware of is Uranium Mining. From the road trains to the environmental impact, the mines are a major part of the Northern Territory and it’s tourism.

The locals are as divided about the issue of mining as the rest of the world. If you do have the good fortune to sit and chat with a Fair Dinkum Territorian, I’m sure you’ll hear their view point. While it is always fine to have discussions about highly political issues, please be respectful. Remember- the people you meet- live there and are affected by the industry everyday of their lives.

Whatever your personal/political opinion on Uranium mining, the environment and indigenous people have just scored a win. Recently an agreement has been made to extend KAKADU National Park by a further 466 hectares with the incorporation of 29 EXPIRED mining leases into the World Heritage Area.
