Immigration Dept may be sued over woman's death
More bad news for the f-ed up Immigration Department as it may be sued over woman's death after doctors said she was too fragile to travel. Of course, people are calling for the resignation of the head honcho - and who can blame them? For more on the story, read this Lateline piece. As a follow up, the Australian citizen who was incorrectly deported to the Philippines is costing taxpayers $900 a day with all the legal fighting going on, while annual homecare in Australia would cost $40,000 a year. The government is currently negotiating a package after offering a shockingly disrespectful 6 months of care and $250 weekly wage.
