I’m a geeky quote junkie who’s been collecting my favorite quotes in a journal since the mid-90′s (God I’m getting old, that seems like just yesterday). Here’s a collection of 25 quotes I turn to when I need a little inspiration.

There are many wonderful places to go diving around the world, but none are as magnificent as the Great Barrie Reef. Off the coast of Queensland Australia, there is a diversity of sea life that cannot be found elsewhere. The Great Barrier Reef supports everything from crocodiles to molluscs to turtles.

For years, Ayers Rock has been marketed as a conquerable landmark – "come to the red centre and climb the rock". The area known as "the climb" on the face of the monolith is easily visible – a stretch of rock whitened by the tracks of many feet, divided in two by a chain to hold on to as you climb.

Sydney has an extensive suburban rail network operated by CityRail www.cityrail.info. Sydney trains are often very crowded in peak hour, but a CityRail train may be the fastest way to get to the CBD. Expect severe congestion around Town Hall at peak hour. The complex rail network sometimes experiences delays, especially during rain.

Drink only Tooheys or Carlton on your visit to Australia if you wish. But if you want to step outside your comfort zone, you can find a microbrewery in every state. From lagers to ales to stouts, you’ll sip on all sorts of locally-brewed suds.

Since I have already written about the well-traveled Great Ocean Road, I think I should simply cover Victoria by doing what I like best — talk about the good eats I had from Melbourne to the border of Victoria and South Australia.
