Look, up in the sky!

Did anyone else in the Brisbane region see a fireball streaking across the sky during the early hours (we're talking 5-ish) of Sunday morning?

I won't go into the details of how I happened to still be awake from the night before, but the three other people I was with saw it too. Bron had the presense of mind to snap a photo, but we've yet to see the film.

Seen nothing on the news, or in the papers this morning about it. It was very comet-esque in appearance, but the sky was light. You could also draw comparisons with the alien landing during Independence Day, or the asteroid chunks falling to earth in Armageddon.

Considering we'd polished off 10 bottles of wine and a bottle of port (between 8 of us), you might forgive us for entertaining thoughts that we might be watching our last morning on Earth as we knew it.

UFO or wine-vision. Hmmm...tough call :)

Tough call indeed - I was only awake until 3, and didn't indulge in the port, so I'm not drawing any correlations, but... I'm yet to see it on the news, either...

Min Min Lights, or Cab Sav Sights?

A more sober Ging today...

Wine and port tend to produce comet-esque appearances both on the ground and in the sky.

Actually, there was some reference to your sighting in today's Living Section of the Oregonian under "claims that can't be verified but may be true - depending upon one's state of mind and general demeanor or lack of."

I'm not making this up, as Dave Barry would say.

I saw it- around the same time as I was walking back from a club and it was all the way down in Canberra (where it was bloody freezing, I might add!)

Woohoo!! Confirmation and vindication. Thank you, Kate.

yes 'kate', thank you, you real, non-fictitious person from Canberra that Chris hasn't made up just to disguise his drunken hallucinations, thank you... ;-)

'Fraid to say I'm real, as are the two people I was with who saw it also. I may or may not, however, have been under the influence of similar intoxicating beverages... so who's to say?!

We want pictures, we want pictures...Actually I believe ya guys. Once while camping in the open, I had seen something similar, years ago, and no one else saw it and did not believe me. So my sympathies are with you.
