Hello, Wankers

Time after time on the drive up to Portland from Eugene, Oregon I saw a sign advertising Wanker's Corner. This seems to not bother most Americans, but to an Aussie it's guaranteed to produce laughter.

A friend in Sydney pointed out a story in today's Sydney Morning Herald:

What's in a name

Funniest part of the article is where employee Erica says she wore some "Wankerwear" on a recent trip to Sydney and got some unexpected reactions.

When I get back to Portland, I'm going to get some photos from Wanker's Corner and maybe I'll just buy some Wankerwear (the hats are priceless). For friends, of course. That stuff will make you go blind!

Chris and I laughed at that sign many a time. I barely even notice it anymore I make that trip so often...but yes - good for a laugh.

i have a friend who, after noticing wankers corner for the first time, looked up wanker in the phone book. Try it - there are even more wankers in oregon than i had thought!
this place has never made me laugh as much as the ready rooter vans though....24 hours satisfaction guarenteed. what more can one ask for??
