Linkage Fun!

They call foreigners who love France Franc-o-philes, but what do they call people who love Australia? Silly Seppos?

Regardless, I love Oz and spent some time "studying" at Sydney Uni in 2002. I returned to visit this September and am anxious to go again. I have a few links that I'm a particular fan of, whether you're thinking about going to Australia, on a trip right now or back home.

Australian Tourism Board
The tourism board gets their say. Look a pictures, check out maps and figure out where you want to go.

Australian History-Brief Summary
Show off your skills. Know some history. This brief timeline links to a one page summary if you're short on time.

If you care to more about Oz history than just the dates.

Sydney Morning Herald
Check up on all the local news before you go with Australia's largest circulating newspaper.

Weather
Brag to all your friends about how much better the weather is in Oz, while they're stuck digging out their car from under six feet of snow. Like weather.com with surf reports.

Hi there
I've just been checkin out this site and theres a few funny little stories and a bit of info for when I'm next on the big island.
Thats all cool BUT...
No mention of Tassie! Not that I could see anyway!
What the bloody hells goin on? Why would you travel halfway across the world to come to Australia without havin at least a quick peek at the most tranquil and beautiful bit!
Admittedly I'm probably biased, and when I was in my teens I thought it was a bit slow and boring, but whether its maturity, perspective or things have actually changed, I LOVE it here. I spent a couple of years wandering around the big island and I found some pretty special spots, but you have to drive through so much boring crap to get to the next one. Here I can wake up on the coast watch the sun come up over the beach, go for a bit of a walk, have lunch in a rainforest then take a hike up a mountain and watch the sun go down over the sea on the other side! OK so I dont do it very often but its nice to know I can.

Hope to see some of you worldly travelers down my neck of the woods sometime.
