Bodytalk

Either my body is trying to tell me something [and let's face it, do I ever listen?!] or... I am simply an old woman...

I thought taking the boys [Sean & Chris] to my 'kicky-fighty' [Tae Bo] class last night would be fun - an introduction to an integral part of 'the Ging'...

However, about three-quarters of the way through the class after doing more sprints and bouncing than usual, my left lower calf muscle [or soleus I think it's called] decides to go PING! And with each additional step PING again! I kinda kept going, thinking I was just 'rooted' from all the running, but then I simply couldn't run at all... dammit!

I love my kicky-fighty class and how sad is it that the one night I get to show the boys how fun it is, they had to continue on without me... as I hobbled off to get some RICE [Rest; Ice; Compression; Elevation] happenin'...

I think they still had a good time - Chris was certainly flying out with the punches and I can tell you ladies, was in a right ol' lather of sweat...

Hope you are feeling better today Ging...it was a lot of fun. I am sore as if I lifted weights which is strange, but good.

he he he! Yes, I believe Chris used the phrase, 'how frickin' sore are we today?!' Probably discovered some muscles you didn't realise you had!!!

But, I'm glad you came and got to experience it!

I'm cool, limping a bit, just get a few 'twinges' if I put weight on my toe, so no drama, just a typical Ging incident! Plus I just remembered that when I went for a jog in Hanoi - as you do! - I PINGed it then, plus my complaint post-dancing on Saturday night... so, it was already slightly aggravated!

Now if I can get Madra to make a decent cupppa, I'll be grand!!!

Unkicky-fighty Ging

Ging,

Hope the leg gets better soon. I remember doing kung fu some years ago and working those hip-flexers and other connector type muscle groups that take a back seat in usuall gym exercises. The Asian philosphy of working the whole body, mind and spirit is a good one.

Thanks, Nick - 'tis nothin' compared to my recurring knee issues! It's actually almost perfect again today... but hear ya on the mind, body, spirit connectivity!!!
