Bloody Bandits

I was missing a bank statement so I called the bank for them to send me out a replacement.

The cost: $14

Fourteen bloody dollars for a piece of paper! No wonder Aussie banks make billions in profit each year. This is just ridiculous.

When I get there - let's throw some masks on and Ant's old trenchcoat and rob that fucking place.

It wouldn't be robbing, it would just be taking back everything they've robbed from us all these years. Bloody bunch of pricks.

Not only in Aussieland. Look at the bank buildings in the U.S. While you're at it, look at the insurance buildings too.

What does it say is left in the account, $3.30.

On a follow-up with this, the Bank called today and said as a gesture of goodwill, they would waive the $14 fee on this occasion. How nice of them. They couldn't, however, tell me when my statement would actually arrive. In fact, they could not even tell me whether it had even been sent yet. Apparently "the system" that would facilitate this has been down for WEEKS! You'd think with the moeny they were making they could afford to fix it, or hell, buy a new one!

Should I be surprised that they don't have your statement available for free online? Maybe that is asking too much. They don't seem to have any trouble sending out my same ole $40 statement for two years even though there hasn't been any activity. I wonder if you showed them this post, they'd be extra nice to you. That reminds me, what happened with the old gym membership? Didn't they mess up in the end and not want to give you your money back, promising you call after call to settle up?

Online statements only go back 120 days so anything before that you have to go the "the vault". Even the local branch where my account is cannot access it through their system. Absolutely retarded. I still have not received that statement in the mail so it's been a week now. Just as well I'm not getting charged for it.

Sounds a bit like a nightmare here with no resolvable ending.
