Oz Survival Guide to Food- Fresh Juice Shops
By Heather | Permalink | No Comments | June 20th, 2007 | TrackbackOh the Aussies really nailed it with this one! One of my favorite ways to start a day is with a freshly squeezed juice. The best part about it- you get to pick the fruit/veggies/flavors you want in it. MMMM! Watermelon, Apple, Orange, Pineapple, Mint, Ginger, Carrot, Celery, Pear…you name it!
Granted at the moment it is winter and the fruit isn’t the best but it is still miles better than anything you can get in the states outside of California and Florida. Years ago I was given a juicer and was never really sure what to do with it considering the fruit tasted roughly like plastic in the Midwestern US. Now, halleluja! My eyes have been opened! And the best part- someone else has to clean up the mess. I very happily hand over my $4, point to what I want and walk away cheerily sipping my personalized fresh concoction.
Available all over Australia these stands also specialize in those uber yummy fresh yogurts with the fruit on top and fresh fruit salads.
Major kudos to the Aussies on this healthy, affordable, and fresh dining option. Delicious any time but downright unbeatable in the summer months.
